AFRICANS ARE TOP OF THE WORLD!

5 JULY 2022 South Africa’s Thomas van Rijckevorsel is the Youth Equestrian Games champion after storming to victory in Aachen. The 17-year-old pipped fellow African athlete Jad Guerraoui, of Morocco, to the post in silver position, with the USA’s Mimi Gochman in bronze. EQUESTRIAN WORLD UNITES TO PAY TRIBUTE TO PRINCE PHILIP

14 APRIL 2021 An online condolence book for the equestrian world to pay tribute to Prince Philip has been created by the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, died on April 9 at the age of 99. Prince Philip was the president of the Royal Windsor Horse Show (RWHS) for 30 years and competed at the highest level in polo and carriage driving. He was the longest-serving FEI President (1964-1986), introduced carriage driving as a discipline, and used his engineering interest to develop state-of-the-art carriages for competition. FAHIMA SEBIANE, FIRST WOMAN TO HEAD AN ALGERIAN SPORTS FEDERATION

10 APRIL 2021 I Fahima Sebiane was elected head of the Algerian Equestrian Federation during the elective general assembly of this body, held on Sunday in Algiers. She is now the first woman in the history of Algerian sport. She succeeds the outgoing president, M’Hamed Zoubir Metidji, as head of the FEA. Fahima Sebiane was the only candidate for the post, since her file was the only one to have received the approval of the candidacy commission.
